The SoilWeb for iOS application provides access to soil survey information from the SSURGO dataset, published by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, based on your current location.

This application serves as a streamlined version of the SoilWeb GMap web application. While the web version includes an interactive map for detailed viewing and querying of individual map units, this iOS app does not offer that functionality. However, it conveniently links to the SoilWeb GMap web app.

Key features of the SoilWeb for iOS application include:

 <li>Soil profile sketches, estimated proportions, and geomorphic position of soil components associated with the SSURGO "map unit" at your current location.</li>
 <li>Map unit aggregate data like estimated water holding capacity.</li>
 <li>Soil survey area scale and publication date details.</li>
 <li>Component specifics such as soil taxonomy, soil property depth profiles, land classification ratings, hydraulic and erosion ratings, forest productivity, and soil suitability ratings.</li>
 <li>Quick access to Official Series Descriptions (OSDs) automatically generated.</li>
 <li>Links to related web apps for components: Series Extent Explorer (SEE) and Soil Data Explorer (SDE).</li>
 <li>Direct link to the SoilWeb GMap web application based on your location.</li>
 <li>Location accuracy settings offering options for standard accuracy (less battery usage) and high accuracy (more battery consumption but precise results).</li>
 <li>Location auto-refresh feature allowing automatic soil data updates at specified intervals.</li>
